McLean’s Ebenezer United Methodist Church celebrates their 150th anniversary! A committee was set up to plan events for this whole year to celebrate, but like many other things, the pandemic forced the church to halt their plans. One thing from the agenda that was able to be accomplished was a history book that holds information from the start of the church to current day. The book is available to be seen in the church and contains interesting artifacts. These artifacts include: pictures, recipes, and items from events such as weddings, Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving celebrations. 

Ebenezer United Methodist Church has a Chimes Choir, which was described as “a joy for a lot of occasions”. The church will also have Sunday School, when there are kids in attendance there. They partnered this week with McLean Methodist Church and McLean Christian Church to have Vacation Bible School. There was singing, crafts, and more at VBS. Ebenezer Church of Mclean hosts events year-round for members of the community. In February there is a country breakfast, for Easter they hold a children’s Easter egg hunt and a breakfast before the Easter church service, in July there is an ice cream social, in August there is a church service at Funk’s Grove, in September they have a hot dog roast, in November they plan a Thanksgiving dinner the Sunday before the holiday, and December is a month that has lots of activities to choose from. 

The church is located at 1971 E 550 North Rd, McLean. The church averages 25 people in attendance each week. Their service times are: fellowship at 8:45 a.m. and worship at 9:30 a.m. Aletha Weatherall is the pastor for the church. The church has a Facebook page where they will post updates.
