Atlanta Celebrates Christmas in July

It’s about Christmas time… for July. Christmas in July is happening in Atlanta this year on July 23 & 24. Saturday it is from 10 am-4 pm and Sunday from 11 am-4 pm. This event is being run at the same time with the 2nd Annual Market Weekend on Route 66. Right in downtown Atlanta the streets will be decorated for Christmas. The tourism director, Whitney Ortiz, writes “it is all like Christmas, just without the cold & snow.” The specific location is Arch Street, known as the former U.S. Route 66.

To go along with the Christmas theme, the Atlanta Christmas Celebration Committee will be selling festive Route 66 shield stickers. These will cost $1 and are part of the fundraiser for the upcoming celebration in November. The new Missy’s Sweet Shoppe will have a special Christmas cookie for customers to purchase. A portion of the proceeds will then be donated to the Atlanta Christmas Celebration Committee. Chubby’s Bar & Grill will also be having Christmas specials contributing to the Celebration Committee fund. The famous cheeseburger special will run during the whole weekend at Chubby’s.

The market will be occurring too at this time and place. There will be booths both indoors and outdoors on Arch Street. The top vendors include Cheesed OUT food truck and Top Hat Creamery’s mobile cart. Some other vendors are Pampered Chef, Scentsy, Sparky’s Smokeshak, John + June 1986 Studio, Darling Desserts Bakery, But First Crafts, Norwex, Pink Zebra, and Mary Kay. Then, there will be 38 more vendors.

Come out to enjoy the fun Christmas decorations and vendor fair. The event is free to attend and parking is available in the Atlanta Public Library lot or Post Office!
