I would like to send a huge thanks to Magnolia Pictures for letting me screen an advanced copy of this film. Once I saw the poster, I knew I wanted to see this film without a doubt. <\/p>\n

A pretty simple synopsis “After his car breaks down, Glen spends one hell of an odd night with a married couple, setting into motion a chain of events that alter their lives plus those of several random strangers.” Although honestly, there are so many twists and turns that I think it would be quite the challenge to ruin this film for someone. It leaves a lot to the imagination without really ruining anything, which I think makes it an excellent synopsis. <\/p>\n

The genre is listed as just Sci-Fi on IMDb, but this has a lot of thriller-style elements. While watching this, I couldn't help but draw comparisons to several other films “Titane,” “Under the Skin,” “Videodrome,” “Her,” and many more. That group of films probably doesn’t tell you what this one is about because even those are very different films. I wouldn’t say it copied any of them, but it felt like they inspired it.<\/p>\n

Simply put, some of the best films I’ve ever seen are the hardest to describe. While watching this, we are left with a question, not knowing what is or isn’t. I appreciate that first-time feature director Rob Schroeder was able to keep you embroiled in so many feelings all at once throughout the entirety of the film. While I would probably consider this an “art” take on the Sci-Fi genre (especially when you look at my comparisons above), it’s done in such a way that you don’t feel overwhelmed by it as many others do. If you’ve seen any of the examples I’ve listed above, then you’ll probably understand what I mean by this. It’s not a “body film” like many of those others, but it does tease the edge of the genre. <\/p>\n

Chelsea Lopez steals the spotlight of this film with her performance; it’s so natural yet keeps you wanting more; it keeps you locked in and wondering what will happen next. The rest of the cast added to this to create a great ensemble that made for a great viewing experience.<\/p>\n
