It was a stellar presentation that is only possibly lacking because I wanted more of what it had to offer. There was explicitly one choreographed scene in the film that gave me instant feelings of a scene from JOHN WICK, and that’s the best comparison I could give as I think JOHN WICK had some of the best-choreographed fight scenes of any modern action film. <\/p>\n

The story is pretty simple, but the characters are given complex stories that make for an intriguing watch from start to finish. The film earns its R rating for sexual content, language, and some minor drug use on screen. Although it's a situation that these things were used to advance the story more than just gratuitous placement as some films do. Revenge plays a crucial role in the movie, and for a good reason, the script naturally progresses to a point where you’re actively rooting for the lead character to succeed in his plan. <\/p>\n

I’m not very familiar with José María Yazpik’s work, but he takes his role and truly makes it his own. There are a lot of familiar faces in this film (Neal McDonough, Tim Roth, Ron Pelman, and more), but it’s Yazpik’s presence on screen that is larger than life and keeps you ready for the next scene, wanting more and more.<\/p>\n

As I alluded to earlier, I would’ve liked to see more action; the stunt\/choreography was fantastic, especially some of the camera work that went along with those scenes. You never knew where the camera would go next, which made for a very exhilarating experience. I’ve seen a lot of choreographed fight scenes that immediately took you out of the film-watching experience because they were either poorly shot, the stunts weren’t well done, or the camera work was all over the place. Everything was in line and made for a great experience in this instance.<\/p>\n

I would love to see a sequel to this; I could think of various ways that it could be picked up and expanded on to further the story. If you get the opportunity, whether you’re lucky enough to see it on the big screen or physical release\/streaming, I would take the chance to see a great story and overall fun crime thriller that offers some great action.<\/p>\n
