RAVING REVIEW: <\/strong><\/strong>MÉXICO BÁRBARO II carves a unique niche in the expansive horror genre, emerging as a noteworthy entry to anthology horror. This collection features eight short films by different directors; while I haven’t seen the first set of films, I was told I could watch these without missing anything. From supernatural chills to profound social commentary, each story is steeped in the rich history of Mexican folklore, offering a fresh perspective on familiar terror tropes.<\/p>\n

In MÉXICO BÁRBARO II, the opening act, "Juan the Soldier," crafted by Abraham Sánchez, transports viewers to a desert landscape that sets the stage for a story of injustice and supernatural struggles. While not overloaded with special effects, this piece stands out with its powerful performances and visually arresting cinematography, laying a solid foundation for the anthology.<\/p>\n

However, the journey through this chilling collection has its share of highs and lows. "Paidos Phobos" stumbles in moments, generating the expected suspense and gore, leading to a somewhat predictable outcome.
