The film offers a lot of potential without fully delivering the rewards you hope for. Directed by Giles Alderson (ARTHUR & MERLIN: KNIGHTS OF CAMELOT, THE DARE) and written by Samantha Lee Howe (writer of the best-selling book by the same name), we get an exciting rollercoaster that tries to keep you on edge but ultimately leaves you more confused than anything.<\/p>\n

Ultimately I felt like I waited around, hoping for more for most of the film. I saw one review that said this was a “British Lifetime Movie,” which I disagree with. While I was left underwhelmed, I think the production value and most of the acting was very well done. I feel this is a case where the story failed to meet my expectations. Arguably it could be said that this is more of a “me” problem than anything, but upon digging through further reviews, it feels like I’m not alone.<\/p>\n

I have to question some of the reviews; many came out on the same day and gave 10\/10 reviews. While I’m not suggesting that it was intentional, I feel it gives a false understanding of the film. While my 5\/10 may be a little low for some, I also feel like a 10\/10 would push it in any world. Again, I’m not making accusations, just another reason to judge for yourself.<\/p>\n

On a more positive note, I have to point out that Emily Berrington delivers a solid performance throughout the film. Previously I had known her from the fantastic TV series HUMANS, and it was interesting seeing her in a role where she wasn’t a literal android. She still was able to deliver some jaw-dropping stone-cold moments, which I had previously thought was purely because of the role she was playing.<\/p>\n
