RAVING REVIEW: <\/strong>The most action-packed fun you’ll have on a cargo ship all year. An action\/thriller\/horror that knows exactly what it is but is a significant reason why it works so well.<\/p>\n

One of the most telling aspects of this film is that it leans into the over-the-top gore and violence without looking back at any point. While the story occasionally drags in its two-hour runtime, the fun and extravagant action keep you deeply embedded in the film.<\/p>\n

Honestly, this isn’t the most original, but that isn’t what you’re watching it for. The unapologetic nature of the film reminds me of a mix between a modern monster film and a classic action\/thriller. I’ve decided not to give actual examples because I don’t want to spoil the fun.<\/p>\n

The definition of a good genre film pays homage to what has come before but also offers something new that will appease fans. The movie will instantly give you the feeling of another South Korean film that takes place on a “train” but at the same time is very much an animal all on its own. That’s probably the most sincere compliment I can give the film; if you know what I’m comparing it to, you’ll know why.<\/p>\n

Asian cinema, in general, is one of my favorite styles of film; ironically, I haven’t seen any of the director or casts other roles (at least the ones listed on the top of their IMDb page.) It just really shows how vast cinema from around the world is. Just when you think you’re familiar with what movies offer, you don’t have a clue.<\/p>\n

If you want to have fun, go into this with the expectations of just enjoying it, and likely you will. This isn’t going to be for diehard film buffs who pick apart every little thing, but when you watch movies to enjoy them, this is a guaranteed blast (both figuratively and literally.)<\/p>\n
