Amazon Giving Away Video Games to Prime Members
Want free games? Who wouldn’t? We’re talking $84 worth of free video games for the month of December courtesy of Amazon—for Prime members only. Not a member? Amazon offers a 30-day free trial, so if you want to take advantage of all of these free games, sign up and once the trial is over, you can either subscribe to Prime for $13 a month or $119 per year, or just cancel it altogether. No hard feelings.
Along with free games that change out every month, Prime Gaming offers free level-up options for characters, boosts, skins, upgrades and more. You can also score a treasure-trove of free SNK games, including Art of Fighting 2, Blazing Star, Fatal Fury Special, The King of Fighters 2000 and 2002, Pulstar and Samurai Shodown II. And you can keep the games in your digital library even if you cancel the service. Win-win! To start gameplay, you’ll need the Amazon Games app. The games can be played on Android and iOS smartphones and tablets, plus Google Chromecast, PS4, Xbox One, Apple TV, Android TV and more.
This month’s free video games include: Think Oregon Trail for a new generation. Turmoil is a simulation game that follows a cast of characters trying to find their fortune during America’s 19th-century oil rush. Players drill, find oil, and make lots and lots of money. Sigma Theory: Global Cold War is a turn-based strategy game that’s set in a futuristic global cold war. Your mission is to recruit a team of special agents and secure control of the singularity.
HyperDot is a fun and minimal puzzle game where a small dot has one objective: Dodge everything in sight! Close to the Sun follows Rose Archer, an explorer and scientist who searches for her sister aboard a gigantic floating research facility called Tesla’s Helios. She quickly discovers not everything is as it seems. Wizard of Legend is a role-playing game that’s chock full of fantasy action. Instead of fighting with fists and kicks, players use a combination of spells and magic in pursuit of ancient relics. There's something for everyone with Amazon Prime Gaming!
