Alma A. Wilson

Alma A. Wilson 94, of Hopedale, IL passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father, on Wednesday July 21, 2021 at Unity Point Health-Pekin Hospital, Pekin, IL. The daughter of Lawrence Harold and Golda Irene (Hull) Riley, she was born May 16, 1927, in Ohio. 

 She married Jack C. Barrick on July 4, 1947 in Mackinaw. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1990. They had 3 sons, Jeffrey, Stephen and Robert.

She later married Thomas J. Wilson on August 7, 1996 in Mackinaw. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2004.

She is survived by one son, Jeffrey (Linda) Barrick, Morton, IL and one daughter-in-law, Paula Barrick, Morton, IL. 6 Grandchildren: Jennifer (Greg) Wiegand, Jeremy (Liza) Barrick, Lindsey (Thomas) Swardenski, Kara (JT) Lau, Kelle (Brad Simpson) Barrick, and Chris (Mary) Barrick.      11 Great grandchildren: Trista (Sabrina) Mickail, Megan Barrick, Jordon (Aryan Hones) Barrick; Brent (Marissa) Wiegand, Emily (Martin) Thompson, Brock (Nina Pulido) Wiegand, Isaac Wiegand; Kendyl Swardenski, Brielle Swardenski; Benjamin Barrick and Lainy Barrick. 5 Great great grandchildren: Benjamin, Malachi, Sutton, Hazel and soon to be arriving Riya. One sister, Freda Greer, Pekin, IL.

Also surviving are her step-children: Douglas (Linda Ann) Wilson, Martinez, GA; Rebecca (James) Christian, Bloomington, IL; Linda June (Gordon) Thomas, Hopedale, IL.  12 Grandchildren: Shannon (Tim) Cox, Colleen Wilson, Erin Wilson, Thomas (Jenna) Wilson II, Lain Wilson; Krista (Radu) Budnar, Kara (Michael) Schmidt, Kate Vogel; Andrea (Micah) Garnett; Jacob (Sara) Thomas, Alison Thomas, Isaac (Gina) Thomas. 19 Step-great grandchildren: Ezekiel, Phoebe, Solomon, Asher, Presley, Jace, Baylor, Emma, Grant, David, Collin, Alec, Owen, Rosalind, Sydney, Jonah, Samara, Oscar, and Silas.

She was preceded in death by two sons, one great granddaughter, one sister, one brother and one step-daughter.

 Alma worked for many years at the Mackinaw First Security Bank. She enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards in younger days, family vacations, painting, making bookmarks, volunteering at her church, spending time in Texas during the winter and going to music jams.

A special thank you to the Wilson family for their love and support through the years.

She was a member of the Mackinaw Christian Church. A visitation and celebration of life was held in her honor at the church on Saturday, July 24, at 2:00 PM with Pastor Judith Guy officiating. Burial will be at the Mackinaw Cemetery.   

Memorials in her memory can be given to the Mackinaw Christian Church or OSF Cardiovascular Institute.
