Christmas Tree Lighting in Armington
The Village of Armington held it’s Christmas Tree lighting ceremony on Saturday, November 27th. A large crowd packed the Armington Community Building for a chance to watch the Christmas lights illuminate in Maple Street Park for the first time of the season.
Village President, Eric Boesdorfer, summoned the crowd outside, while Santa Claus (Hopedale resident Chris Durham) led the crowd to countdown the lighting of the tree.
Armington Christian Church Pastor Tyler Escoubas led the crowd in prayer. A round of Christmas carols ranging from O’ Christmas Tree to Silent Night were sung, led by the lovely voice of Jeanne Brandt.
Upon conclusion of the caroling, the crowd returned inside to enjoy some hot soup, cookies, hot cocoa, which were offered by the American Legion Auxiliary. And for the young and young at heart there were visits with the jolly elf himself, Santa Claus.
