Crash Claims Life of Danvers Resident

On Wednesday, February 9, at about 11:00 A.M. Authorities were contacted to respond to a 2 vehicle collision on Illinois Route 9 and King Road, east of Mackinaw. At the scene, they found a 2000 Ranger flipped on its side, with a 2018 Enclave in a ditch on the south side of the road. The driver of the 2000 Ranger, Danvers resident Larry Conder, age 69, was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:41 P.M.

According to authorities, Conder, and his 49 year old female passenger, were traveling south on King Road when Conder attempted to turn onto Illinois Route 9 when they turned into the path of the 2018 Buick Enclave, driven by a 27 year old male. The driver of the Enclave was unable to avoid a collision. A helicopter transported Conder’s female passenger to OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. The 27 year old Enclave driver was transported to Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal. Conditions of either patient have not been specified.

According to the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office, Conder died due to a blunt force injury to the head. At  the time of this writing, it is not clear if funeral services have been scheduled for Mr. Conder. However, one may express their condolences on the webpage of Dignity Memorial.
