Dr. Bill Hauter Announces for State Representative in the 87th District
Tazewell County Board member and Morton physician Bill Hauter announced his campaign for the new 87th District of the Illinois General Assembly. Dr. Hauter is a double board-certified physician actively practicing in both Anesthesiology and Emergency Medicine in Peoria.
Having served as president of his private medical group, as the current Vice President of the Illinois Society of Anesthesiologists as well as a current elected member of the Tazewell County Board, Dr. Hauter is a proven leader in his practice, hospital, specialty and community.
Bill and his Shelley are the parents of 5 children and are active in adoption and prolife ministries. Shelley is the director of Living Alternatives Pregnancy Resource Center - a Tazewell County women’s pregnancy center supporting women with difficult pregnancy decisions. The Hauters worked closely with Rep. Sommer to pass an adoption reform law in 2015.
Dr. Hauter says: “I have taken care of innumerable COVID patients in the last two years and I understand COVID is real and serious, but I will stand against these divisive and counterproductive vaccination mandates and passports.” Hauter says he will be a strong conservative voice for the district with his top priorities being pension reform, improving the terrible crime bill passed last year and growing the vibrant biomedical economy of Central Illinois.
