Pancake and Sausage Breakfast

The weather could not have been more cooperative for the 45th Annual Armington Park District Pancake and Sausage Breakfast. The sun was bright, the air had a slight autumn chill, the fallen leaves crunched underfoot as one approached the gymnasium entrance, and the enticing aroma of freshly cooked pancakes and breakfast sausage welcomed all comers.

The yearly fundraiser for the Armington Park District, used to cover the cost of maintaining the gymnasium facility on South Griffin Street, had a great turn out. Whether dining, visiting with neighbors, or solving the world’s problems over a hot cup of coffee, everyone seemed to really enjoy returning to the in-person breakfast.

The event included a good-will offering breakfast – served by the friendliest crew, and avid Armington Mustangs supporters – as well as a ring of vendors surrounding the dining area, displaying their wares. The craft tables contained many items, including home baked goods, hand-stitched items, hand strung beaded jewelry, and even some rather stunning stained-glass pieces.

This event, and the facility it supports, are a real treasure.
