RAVING REVIEW: When you get the opportunity, make sure you journey down the path of discovery within the charm and depth of WHAT'S NEXT. The documentary stands out for celebrating life, legacy, and intergenerational wisdom. Directed by Taylor Taglianetti (shout out to working on the casting of one of my favorite films, SHIVA BABY,) this film breaks away from conventional storytelling of what you would expect in a documentary to instead shine a spotlight on Dr. Howard Tucker’s incredible journey as both a medical pioneer and a long fulfilled life, all through the lens of his enriching relationship with his grandson. Taglianetti mixes professional accomplishments with personal stories, creating a narrative that's as enriching as it is entertaining.

From the first scene, we can tell that WHAT'S NEXT is not your average documentary. It's a blend of biography, history, and personal triumphs mixed with life joys and struggles, told with a fresh and engaging approach that draws viewers into the world of a man who has not only reached the milestone of a century (101 as of this posting) but has filled those years with remarkable achievements and enduring relationships. The focus on Dr. Tucker's bond with his grandson adds a delightful dynamic, offering a heartfelt look at how wisdom and experiences are shared across generations.

Dr. Tucker's story is of resilience, a never-ending quest for knowledge, and an unyielding passion for life. Whether it's his trailblazing career in neurology, his later-in-life venture into law, or his unexpected rise as a social media icon, WHAT'S NEXT showcases a life lived to the fullest, unconfined by the expectations of age. Taglianetti captures the essence of Dr. Tucker's adventures and his profound impact on those around him with warmth and respect, making every moment count.

The film takes viewers through the peaks and valleys of Dr. Tucker's life, emphasizing his groundbreaking work in medicine and his philosophy of never stopping. His relationship with his grandson serves as the emotional core of the documentary, providing an intimate glimpse into the power of family ties and the transfer of generational knowledge.

WHAT'S NEXT is a heartwarming and inspiring film that captures the extraordinary life of Dr. Howard Tucker. It celebrates his professional triumphs and personal joys, highlighting the beauty of living a whole and meaningful life. Taglianetti, in her impressive directorial debut, invites us to ponder the richness of life, the endless possibilities for learning, and the precious marks we leave on each other's lives. I could watch more stories of Dr. Tucker anytime! He reminded me of a doctor who saved my life by going the extra mile.

WHAT'S NEXT is an engaging and uplifting viewing experience, bridging the gap between generations and illustrating the lasting power of knowledge, love, and curiosity. This documentary is a vibrant tribute to an exceptional life, offering a narrative as informative as it is moving. It's a must-see for anyone looking for a story filled with inspiration, heart, and a deep appreciation for life's journey. Here’s to Dr. Tucker’s 102 bday (July 10, 2024)!
