Minier Police Explorers: Preparing for Careers in Law Enforcement

The Minier Police Explorers are part of the local Law Enforcement Agency. They are a community and government organization. The Minier Police Explorer Post 6007 helps introduce the youth of ages 14-21 into law enforcement. They work to prepare high school and college students for a career in law enforcement.

During the program, these young adults learn how to work with others and then alone in the police force. The students also greatly develop their leadership skills in this program. This is a great opportunity to strengthen your educational expertise within law enforcement. The Minier Police Explorers get to take part in training, seminars, conferences, and simulations. For example, they could partake in responding to a traffic crash, burglaries, or other crimes as set-up scenarios. Then, the trainers will form constructive feedback and criticism to help the student improve for a future situation. The Explorers can walk side by side with a police officer to help with community events such as parking tickets. Throughout the process, the young adults are able to hear stories, experiences, and tips from the higher-up police officers.

The Minier Police Explorers was founded by Bob Quarello. Quarello started off as an Explorer in Pekin for the law enforcement program. During his career, he focused on serving others, especially young adults. So, Quarello founded many other Explorer programs, including the Minier Police Explorers. Currently, they are headed by Chief Daryl Weseloh. Weseloh was an Explorer, too. Then, he became chief in 1999.

Being a part of the Minier Police Explorers is a great step into exploring a career in law enforcement. You will learn if you have what it takes to be a police officer. When being a Law Enforcement Explorer here, you are even closer to becoming part of the official Minier Police Department. Anyone is welcome to come on in and take on this challenge!

This group is located at 110 W Central St, Minier, Illinois. They have shorter work hours from 9 am-12 pm. The contact phone number is (309)392-2442 and email minierpd@mchsi.com. Follow the team on their Facebook page, too.
