William H. Wurster

William ‘Bill’ H. Wurster, 70 of Morton, IL, formerly of Mackinaw, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday March 16, 2022 at his home.

He was born November 30, 1951 in Peoria to Harry and Mary ‘Marie’ (Obery) Wurster. He married Kathryn Johnson, the love of his life and best friend on November 6, 1976. She survives. Together they have three children: Tricia McDaniel, Morton; Chad Wurster, and Ryan (Cortney) Wurster, both of Mackinaw; and three grandsons, Zachary, Aiden, and Nash. Also surviving are his three sisters, Susan (Gerald) Rich Sr. and Mary Jean Taylor, both of Deer Creek and Linda (Jeffrey) Barrick, Morton, and many nieces and nephews.

Bill was a plumber for over 35 years who excelled at his trade and a farmer at heart. He served in the US Army from 1971 through 1973, stationed in Germany. He loved growing up and living on the Wurster family farm for many years before retiring and moving to Morton, IL. His grandsons held a special spot in his heart, caring for, playing with and spoiling them was one of his favorite pastimes.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Season’s Gastropub, Morton, IL. Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Mackinaw is handling the arrangements.

Memorials in Bill’s name may be made to the Deer Creek Fire Department or Hopedale Medical Foundation Veterans Memorial.
