Timothy S. Defebaugh

Timothy “Tim” S. Defebaugh, 51, of Mackinaw, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at his home. He was born on April 8, 1975, to Gerald “Jerry” and Rhonda (Chase) Defebaugh, she survives. He married Jennifer Brummitt on March 21, 2003, on the island of Antigua, in the Caribbean. She survives as well.

Also surviving are his brother; DJ (Patty) Robinson, brothers-in-law; Billy (Diane) Brummitt, Jim (Rebecca) Brummitt, cousins who were raised like brothers; Josh, Justin Eveland and Matt Jones, sister; Tracy (Dustin Long) Defebaugh, mother-in-law; Barbara (Dismang) Brummitt, and sisters-in-law; Tonya (Ron) Krus and Cheryl Brummitt, special girl; Melody, many nieces, nephews, plus his bonus kids; Brian and Tori, and the joy of the children of all of his best friends. 

Tim is preceded in death by his grandparents; Harold and Florence (Berdine) Defebaugh, Walter, Jr. and Betty (Scott) Chase, his father, brother-in-law; Brian Brummitt, father-in-law; William Brummitt, cousins; Jeremy and Jason, and two close friends.

He spent 26 years working at USPS in many crafts and offices where he made incredible lifelong friendships.  He is the current Post Master of the Delavan Post Office. 

As a St. Jude patient, Tim passionately supported St. Jude Runs and St. Jude Life Studies.  He is the President of the Bloomington Postal Employee Credit Union. 

Tim had many interests and hobbies.  He was a sport pilot and car enthusiast.  He enjoyed smoking meat, scuba diving, loving his dog (Girl) and all his pet sitting pups, and just being everyone’s best friend. 

Cremation rights have been accorded by the family, with the guidance of Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home. In accordance with his wishes, there are no services scheduled. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
