Olympia High School Weekly Sports Recap

The Boys Track and Field Team started off their week successfully in Heyworth with multiple first-place finishes. Owen Dare got first in the 400, Caden Clark got first in the 3200, Keagan Uphoff placed first in the 110 and 300 hurdles, and the 4x200 team came in first as well as the 4x400 and 4x800 teams. In the high jump, Olympia took the top two spots with Chase Litwiller in first and Keagan Uphoff in second, and Chase Ragar placed first in the boy’s triple jump. 

The Girls Track and Field Team faced similar success at the meet. Melissa Beiber and Jordan Bicknell took first and second respectively in the 200, Anna Biber got first in the 400, Abby Litwiller and Madison Bales placed first and second respectively in the 1600, and the 4x200, 4x400, and 4x800 relay teams each got first-place finishes as well.

Boys Baseball went 3-1 this week starting off with two wins on Saturday, one against Camp Point Central 8-6 and the other against Beardstown 12-6. On Monday the boys put up a good fight against St. Thomas More but ended up losing 9-10. The team finished out their week with a blowout against Rantoul winning 14-0. 

Girls Softball went 5-1 this week beginning their games at the Mt. Zion Tournament where they beat Pleasant Plains 12-0, lost to Marion 7-9, and beat Mt. Zion 9-7. The girls then played St. Thomas More on Tuesday who they defeated 20-1. On Wednesday and Thursday, the team played Gibson-City and Rantoul where they collected two wins with ending scores of 3-2 and 17-0. Girls Soccer lost their three games this week against Peoria Christian and two against Central Catholic.
