RAVING REVIEW: This an odd but genuinely interesting experience unlike I’ve seen before. A mix of horror, comedy, and fantasy.

This one will leave you questioning everything you know because the film doesn’t fit into the genres it's part of. On the surface, the story is a fun narrative about what the real world is like when we leave technology behind.

However, the story takes a sharp turn when the group we’re following discovers more than meets the eye about this magical creature they find. What lengths would you go to just to have your every wish come true? We soon discover that while the story is sometimes a little cliche, it’s still a fun ride.

At times I felt like the film would’ve been better suited with a shorter edited-down version. There were a few pacing problems midway through, but I also understood what they were going for. I would assume, even without a rating, that this is aimed at a slightly younger audience, and I know that I would’ve had some issues staying focused throughout when I was younger.

One of my favorite things about this film is that the two children that atar in the film are the director's children. I found this out after the fact but had I known about it before viewing; I probably would’ve questioned the decision. In this case, though, I don’t think it was a terrible choice. They played their roles perfectly and made the film fun; I had no clue otherwise that they weren’t just “actors.”

Based on the few reviews I’ve skimmed over while trying to find some information on the film, it looks pretty polarizing. Most seem to either enjoy the movie experience or be against it entirely.
