RAVING REVIEW: What would you do with a second chance? That’s what this film aims to answer, but it does so in a way that is intriguing while being its unique take.
All I had to go off before watching this was the poster; I love how it doesn’t even remotely give you an idea about the movie. This was fun while also being intelligent and different from anything I’ve seen in the past.
Jillian Bell (ROUGH NIGHT, 22 JUMP STREET) as Vanessa and Natalie Morales (BATTLE OF THE SEXES, PARKS AND RECREATION) as Jeniffer make for a great duo! They’re entertaining, hilarious, and have great comedic timing. I’ve seen them both in a few different roles, but there’s something different here, I think most of it is Morales's performance, but that would be lost without Bell’s counter to it.
I’m trying not to spoil the film's twist because it makes the entire experience more intriguing. The film handles a genuinely complex topic to take on in a way that makes it enjoyable but still powerful—mixing genres but doing so in a way that they are both allowed to be the film's primary focus.
Director Brandon Dermer says it best “I’M TOTALLY FINE centers around accepting the fact that while we have very little control over what happens in our life, we do have control over how we react and how we move forward.” I love the idea of making the best of a worst-case situation; clearly, Dermer understood that idea.
Please, I beg of you, give this film a chance. Go into it without knowing what it’s about and experience the process of the film: the awkwardness, the inability to accept what we cannot control, and the film's heart. I think too often; people try to justify what they’re watching instead of enjoying the experience. Cinema is, at its core, about enjoyment, and I can pretty much say that I think most will enjoy something about this film.

I do like comedies like this and it definitely has a good cast. The title by itself is funny so I’m sure this is a good watch. Especially with reading your final paragraph 😂
It really was an unexpected blast; I loved that my expectations were so far off from what it ended up being.
Sounds funny packed with laughs
