Fair warning, more than likely, this will not be what you were expecting it to be, and that’s not a bad thing. I was going in expecting a pretty cut-and-dry “sex comedy.” I got a timely look into the lives of two people from entirely different worlds. Two people that had more in common than what anyone (including themselves) would ever have thought.

So without spoiling anything, I will say that this is not a kid-friendly movie; I know many R-rated films can blur the line (see more in the mild spoiler section below.) I do think that this was needed for the movie, though! This was crucial for the story being told and was done surprisingly tastefully.

With just a two-person cast (for the most part,) I was engaged in the story from start to finish. Both Emma Thompson and Daryl McCormack (PEAKY BLINDERS) were exceptional in their roles. I loved seeing the growth they had throughout the film and the connection the two made that I wasn’t expecting. I haven’t seen McCormack in much, but I hope to see him get more roles after this.

Simply, the film is probably a little more drama than comedy, but it was done in such a way that it was still enjoyable thanks to the comedic moments being placed throughout the film with some great timing in the script. Overall, it was just a delightful story that let you step into these moments in these two strangers' lives and see a different side of the story that we may all otherwise miss.

MILD SPOILER:
This film has a sensitive subject matter as well as having full-on nudity and sexual acts as well. I only mention this because I was shocked by it. Honestly, I assumed most of what was on Hulu was more family-friendly, and this was a wake-up call for me.
