RAVING REVIEW: Look, this isn’t going to change the world, but it was exactly what it needed to be, a fun escape that was entertaining from start to finish.

So many negative reviews I’ve read on the TV special said you should watch an episode of DRAG RACE instead. While I enjoyed that series, this offered something fun and different. The spooky season vibes were terrific.

Coming in at just 41 minutes, this is a fun watch for all ages. Please, before you come at me for the drag aspect, google the US founding fathers or British aristocrats (makeup check, heels check, wigs check!) Your argument is invalid if you didn’t have a problem teaching that in school.

While the acting was over-the-top, and some of the songs left something to be deserted, the special itself was still enjoyable. It was able to overcome these hiccups and still entertaining. I can’t imagine anyone tuning into this, thinking they would be watching something that was going to be Oscar-nominated.

Please, I ask you not to walk away from this without giving it a chance; so much of the negativity I’ve seen about it comes down to people's ignorance of what these incredible people do every day. At its core, the drag community just wants to put on their best and have fun. I love that they’ve become synonymous with library reading programs. Most of the children in attendance have no confusion watching them. They don’t hate, and they don’t discriminate; they just sit there and let their imaginations go while being read to.

Set your expectations realistically for a 40-minute TV special, and I think most will enjoy the spectacle for what it is; some of the songs were pretty catchy, and the horror vibes added to them made them that much better.
