So Diane Keaton (ANNIE HALL, SOMETHING’S GOTTA GIVE)  is and always will be an icon of film. Her timing and line delivery make anything with her in it an enjoyable watch. While I wasn’t completely sold on this, I wasn’t the target audience. I feel like they knew who they were appealing to and went all in. It wasn’t bad at all, just not something I would rush to watch again.

The story feels like something we’ve seen before, but it was done in a way that added some fun twists and turns along the way. Both Simon Rex (RED ROCKET, SCARY MOVIE 3) and Taylour Paige (ZOLA, MA RAINEY’S BLACK BOTTOM) delivered incredible performances opposite Keaton. However, I think Keaton’s “friend group” was the real champion of the film. They were so fun and added a unique level of fun that the main cast couldn’t (because of the amazing makeup of the group.)

I appreciated the twist on the traditional role reversal that so many films have done in the past. This time, it became more of a moment of pride instead of pure fear. My only complaint would be that we didn’t get enough screen time for Elizabeth Lail (COUNTDOWN, YOU.) Even with the limited time, she was able to make you interested in the “who” she is.

If you’re looking for a fun group movie, I could see this amplifying the experience! Set your expectations realistically; I think most people will enjoy it. It won’t likely take home any Oscars this year, but that’s not what movies are all about. Sometimes they’re just there to enjoy. I would say the film's target audience will enjoy this far more than I did, especially considering I still enjoyed quite a bit about it.
