RAVING REVIEW: If you’re tired of the same old bloodsucking tales, HUMANIST VAMPIRE SEEKING CONSENTING SUICIDAL PERSON is here to revive your cinematic spirit! As we enter Sasha’s world, directed with flair by Ariane Louis-Seize, it’s not just midnight hunts and coffin breaks; Sasha (Sara Montpetit) is a vampire bitten by the bug of morality. On the other side, there’s Paul (Félix-Antoine Bénard,) a soul facing life’s most challenging questions, whose life becomes intertwined with Sasha’s just as the horizon hints at sunrise.

Louis-Seize doesn’t just serve a transfusion of the old with the new; she crafts a reflective and radiant narrative. Every scene drips with intent, painting a spectrum of emotions ranging from the vibrant joy of parties to the sobering realities of dawn reflections. Montpetit doesn’t just sink her teeth into the part; she wholly consumes it, establishing a genuinely immortal performance.

Having spread her wings in short films, Louis-Seize now soars into a full-length feature, showcasing an evolution that’s nothing short of fangtastic. The storyline, rooted in indie vibes, presents a refreshing take on vampire tales that doesn’t drain the original essence. Christine Doyon’s co-writing is the perfect plasma partner for Ariane’s storytelling style.

Gone are the days when vampires were just about crypts and capes. This film unveils them in a light that’s both haunting and human. Montpetit’s interaction with Bénard, our tormented Paul, brings an authenticity so tangible that it could raise your pulse. That’s one of my favorite aspects of the film; it feels authentic and relatable in a way you can’t force.

In Quebec’s vibrant cinema scene, Louis-Seize adds another jewel to its crown with HUMANIST VAMPIRE SEEKING CONSENTING SUICIDAL PERSON. It’s a tale that doesn’t just flirt with themes of morality and adolescence but embraces them, neck and all. Dialogue and silence dance in a mesmerizing tango, casting a spell that ensures every moment counts.

HUMANIST VAMPIRE SEEKING CONSENTING SUICIDAL PERSON isn’t just a watch; it’s a feast for the senses. If your cinematic taste buds are craving fresh and familiar, this film promises a taste that will linger long after the credits roll. Louis-Seize’s latest offering doesn’t just invite you in—it compels you with the allure only an authentic cinematic experience can exude. So, prepare to be bitten by this new wave of storytelling; it promises an experience that’s both delightful and deep, without a hint of garlic!

P.S. Just how long will it take for an American remake? That said, I would love to see a sequel to this!
