The only good thing that came out of having COVID last year was being introduced to HARLEY QUINN during my trial of HBO Max (All thanks to a suggestion I watch BATKID BEGINS, if you haven’t seen it, go watch it! I’m not crying, you’re crying!) Anyway, once I found this new series, the first two seasons had already been fully released. So I got to experience seasons one and two back to back.

This was the perfect opportunity for this property; the animated format, the incredible voice actors, and the hard rating were a perfect storm that allowed the series to thrive. While Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn did a fantastic job in the live-action version, Kaley Cuoco brings a new level of intrigue and fun to the character.

I’m so glad that season three picked right back up with the brilliant writing and pure fun the first two seasons had. My only gripe would be that the episodes are only 22 minutes long. I also appreciate that they do long format arcs across the season and even multiple episodes; it just takes away a little bit of the punch when each episode is over that quickly. It does allow you to tackle a season quickly, but then you’re left wanting more.

Do keep in mind that this is very much an adult animation. This is not for children; Batman also shows up, along with many other appearances from his rogue’s gallery, but it isn’t for kids. Speaking of characters, the main focus is on Harley Quinn (voiced by Kaley Cuoco), but there are several other shining stars, namely Poison Ivy (Lake Bell.) Other big names make appearances throughout the seasons, but the show isn’t about these “real-life” people; it’s about the characters they bring to life. I’m already ready for seasons 4, 5, 6, etc. I genuinely hope that this series has a nice long run. There is truly no end to the potential with this criminally underrated series!
