RAVING REVIEW: Hold on to your seats because THE ADVENTURES OF JURASSIC PET 2: THE LOST SECRET is just as wild as the first entry! Prepare yourself for the adventures of Wendy and Curtis, who are up for an action-packed adventure with a baby dinosaur named Junior. The film takes what made Jurassic Pet click and turns it up a notch.
The movie delivers a fun, engaging storyline with a kid-focused momentum. Wendy and Curtis must keep Junior safe until they can return him to his family, but their task takes twists and turns. They uncover a sinister plot threatening the city and must work together to save the town and get Junior back home. The movie delivers a fun, engaging storyline with a kid-focused momentum.
While the storyline is somewhat predictable, it is still fun that will entertain kids. The comedy and action are well-balanced, making it an excellent movie for the whole family. The CGI could have been better; it stands out, especially on a large TV. They attempt to cover that by keeping the dinosaurs off-screen as much as possible.
Remember, this is a children’s movie, and while the family can enjoy the experience, its target audience is the focus. Wendy and Curtis delivered believable and engaging performances. They work well together to create an entertaining on-screen chemistry that makes you want to see more of their adventures.
Even though I watched the original film in preparation for this, even though after the fact, I realized it wasn’t necessary. The film is written and created to allow anyone to jump right in. There is a connection between the original movie and the baby T-Rex, Junior.
In conclusion, THE ADVENTURES OF JURASSIC PET: THE LOST SECRET reminds me of my days watching made-for-TV movies as a kid or some of Disney’s live-action sequels. I think most kids will enjoy the over-the-top fun, and most adults will have a few moments they can laugh “at” or with along the way.
