I decided to combine the second and third episodes of the series for review mainly because I thought weekly posts might be a bit overwhelming. I have nothing but rave reviews to give this series as a whole. There are five more episodes to go until we hit number one, but each episode seems to add more and more than the previous episodes. I was blown away by the care and passion this series has had for the genre. It makes sense being made by a platform that primarily deals with horror.

Every time I see a new film on this list, it puts a smile on my face. They deeply dive into the history of horror, not just at a surface level. I appreciate the most that they cover a little bit of everything: old, new, English, international, silent, etc. To no surprise, classics like FRIDAY THE 13TH made the list (I don’t feel that one is a spoiler, so don’t come at me lol.) The real shocker is that some of the other choices have been looked over on so many other lists.

Beyond the film choices, the people they get to talk to about the film are fantastic. They often are people who love the films as much as diehard fans. They aren’t just straight-faced film fans; I think that means more than anything. When you have someone who loves the genre, you get those true heartfelt interactions that you can see in their faces, when they comment on a specific scene or moment that stuck with them.

I’ll be covering each episode now until number 1.
