RAVING REVIEW: FUTURAMA has consistently raised the bar, and its eleventh season is no different. With a dazzling exploration of beloved characters like Santa, Calculon, and Mom, along with the romantic pairing of Fry and Leela, and the delightful Kif, this new season, woven into the rich tapestry of FUTURAMA’s past, feels like a return to form. Each episode plays out like a best of the previous ten seasons.

The journey of our hero, Philip J. Fry, voiced by Billy West, parallels the fate of FUTURAMA. Despite numerous cancellations, the show consistently revives itself, a testament to its indomitable spirit. The existence of new episodes from Hulu embodies the resilience of the performance, a delightful return for the FUTURAMA, and a standout from the disappointing revivals of other series and an even more powerful resurrection of this series.

A decade has passed since the last episode, but FUTURAMA returns with renewed vigor. Like a phoenix reborn, the original cast reprises their roles, their iconic satirical wit as sharp as ever. The latest season has something for everyone – from first-time viewers to die-hard fans who will revel in the resolution of longstanding mysteries. The answers to some questions you didn’t know you needed answered – the trajectory of Fry and Leela’s romance, the secrets within Nibbler’s litter box, Robot Santa’s enigmatic past, and the destiny of Kif and Amy’s past, present, and future, are finally revealed. The storyline also thoughtfully wades into modern issues such as digital currencies, cancel culture, and streaming.

First aired in 1999, FUTURAMA charmed audiences with its humorous critique of modern society, presented through the lens of a far-off future. The tale centers around Philip J. Fry, who, after being accidentally frozen, wakes up in the 31st century. Here, he befriends a hard-living robot named Bender and finds a soft spot for a worker named Leela. Working for the Planet Express Delivery Company, founded by Fry’s descendant, the slightly eccentric Professor Hubert Farnsworth, they navigate through the furthest corners of the universe. After an initial stint on the Fox Network, this cosmic journey underwent several revivals before landing its latest home on Hulu in 2023.

Conceived by the innovative minds of Matt Groening and David X. Cohen, FUTURAMA has experienced multiple renaissances. After its initial discontinuation on Fox, it returned via straight-to-DVD films and two recent seasons on Comedy Central. A decade later, it has been revived on Hulu.

At its heart, FUTURAMA maintains its original formula, offering witty humor, sci-fi references, and satirical commentary on contemporary technology. The creators and their proficient writing team have managed to bridge the gap in the series. The first episode is a tribute to FUTURAMA’s eventful history.

FUTURAMA’s charm remains timeless despite its history of cancellations and rebirths. While some argue that it has become predictable, its reassuring consistency has held the audience’s attention for over two decades. The series preserves its unique allure, seamlessly merging past, present, and future into an engaging narrative.
